Job Shadowing

The Lancaster County Workforce Development Board sponsors the Countywide Job Shadowing Week April 25-29, 2017. This coincides with Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Week.

Job Shadowing introduces students to the workplace and the career opportunities available to them. Although the product developed or service provided differs from business to business, many companies provide similar career opportunities. For example, public relations firms, government agencies, and biotechnology firms all need accountants, project managers, and writers.

For those occupations that are difficult to shadow due to safety or confidentiality concerns, Dominic DeFilippo will arrange Job Shadowing Panels, where a group of industry professionals meet with interested students in grades 7-12 to share their experiences and answer questions about their occupations.
