Workforce Summit 2016

At the 17th annual Workforce Summit held Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the Best Western Eden Resort, more than 150 representatives of business, education, and community-based organizations learned about the challenges employers are facing in finding fewer qualified candidates for every open position.

The Lancaster County Workforce Development Board Chair, Robert I. Rhoads, Jr., kicked off the meeting with introductions, acknowledgements and comments that captured his audience's attention.  His remarks are listed here.

Cathy Rychalsky, Executive Director of the Lancaster County Workforce Development Board, presented a report on the State of the Workforce including challenges the Workforce Development Board and other community leaders have identified for the coming year. A panel presentation by Matthew Sanger and John Robbins, both from Eastern Lancaster County School District, centered on the Challenges, Partnerships, and Success of Work-based Opportunities.
