ACT® WorkKeys® is a job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a quality workforce. This series of tests measures foundational and soft skills and offers specialized assessments to target institutional needs. The WorkKeys system:
- streamlines the hiring process
- identifies the training needs of current staff
- closes the training gaps that exist between required and demonstrated skills
- evaluates current employees for potential promotion
- provides skill benchmarks for specific jobs
Successful completion of WorkKeys assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information can lead to earning the National Career Readiness Certificate™ (NCRC®), a portable credential. Each WorkKeys assessment offers varying levels of difficulty. The levels build on each other, incorporating the skills assessed at the previous levels. For example, at Level 5, individuals need the skills from Levels 3, 4, and 5. The complexity can also increase as the quantity and/or density of the information increases.
