Adult Basic Education (ABE) services are for job seekers or employees who need assistance in building reading and math skills for employment. Employers who have hired individuals struggling with basic skills can access ABE services to develop internal training programs or refer employees to services to increase productivity.
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes help job seekers with limited English skills. ESL classes focus on reading, writing, listening aand speaking.
General Educational Development® (GED) classes prepare job seekers to take the high school equivalency examination. The Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma (CSSD) is a high school equivalency credential available to Pennsylvania residents who do not possess a high school diploma and have passed the GED® or HiSET® exam or completed the 30 college credit option.
